Providing additional Philosophical and Ceremonial Guidance

Lisa Wright, Madrikha

Lisa discovered Humanistic Judaism about twenty years ago and became involved, passionate and committed to her Jewish community.  She has a varied background as a professional social worker, as a publicist and as the owner of a business that runs workshops on manners and social skills.
Lisa first began taking courses on Humanistic Judaism (from the International Institute for Humanistic Judaism) as adult education but found the program so compelling, she completed her training as a certified Madrikha. Her involvement at Oraynu has ranged from being President of the Board, acting as Program Director, serving as a Board member, and many years on the School Committee.
Lisa has collaborated on writing/editing High Holiday observances for Oraynu and is co-author, with Sandi Horwitz and Barry Olshen, of Roots and Branches: A Humanist Haggadah for Passover. For more information, click here.
Lisa and her husband Brian, also a former President of Oraynu, have three children, Jon, Danny and Lauren, all graduates of our Children's School.
