This seminar is open to Oraynu members, the public and to IISHJ students as a credit course.

The IISHJ Adult Jewish Education Certificate Course is ideal for all adults who wish to begin, or further, their Jewish
education.  It provides excellent preparation for adult Bat/Bar Mitzvah or adoption/conversion.  Matriculating students
enrolled in the IISHJ are training to become professional leaders in the Secular Humanistic Jewish movement.

READINGS: Participants are strongly encouraged to purchase The Early Modern European Roots of Secular Humanistic Judaism (ed. Karen Levy).  Also recommended are Judaism in a Secular Age (ed. Kogel & Katz) and Beyond Tradition: The Struggle for a New Jewish Identity (ed. CREDIT STUDENTS: This course, Seminar SHJ 100, is required for those students undertaking either the IISHJ Adult Jewish Education Certificate Program or the IISHJ Leader Training Program.
The Adult Jewish Education Certificate Course is ideal for all adults who wish to begin or further their Jewish education.  It provides excellent preparation for adult Bat/Bar Mitzvah or adoption/conversion.  
The Leader Training Course trains clergy and professional leaders in the Secular Humanistic Jewish movement.

In order to receive credit, students are required to:
Attend the entire seminar
Participate in question and discussion periods.  Credit students are given priority over other attendees.
Read the Course Reading material before the seminar
Complete the post-seminar assignment
