About our School

Fun, vibrant Jewish education at a warm, inclusive school

Oraynu Children’s School, a supplementary school located in central Toronto, is an integral part of Oraynu Congregation for Humanistic Judaism. It was created in 1968 by a group of dedicated parents to provide their children with a meaningful secular Jewish education.

The School’s acclaimed curriculum is directed toward understanding our past and enriching our present. Jewish continuity and pluralism are encouraged by open and rational examination of the traditional stories and myths.  We promote personal integrity, the respect for the beliefs of others and our responsibility to society.

We welcome intermarried, intercultural and LGBTQ+ families to join our School and community. We offer classes for:

Grades 1–7

Tots & Kindergarten

Bnai Mitzvah 

  • Classes are held weekly on Sunday mornings, with breaks in accordance with the TDSB calendar
  • Bayview/Lawrence location
  • Jewish history, culture, traditions, values, Hebrew and music
  • Family holiday celebrations, Oneg Shabbats, tzedakah and community service projects
