Our Rabbis will create and lead a humanistic ceremony that:
- enables all family members to participate in a meaningful way
- takes place on Shabbat or close to a Jewish festival and a brief Shabbat or festival service is incorporated
- incorporates all the child’s presentations as noted above
- accepts the child’s Bar/Bat Mitzvah commitment
- welcomes the child into the Jewish community as a young adult member
- includes songs and poetry
- may include a ‘passing of values’ ritual
- incorporates the presentation of a Bat/Bar Mitzvah Certificate
No prayer is included in the ceremony and all poetry, songs and blessings are non-theistic.
