Join Oraynu members and friends as we visit the Royal Ontario Museum’s new exhibit examining the history and legacy of Auschwitz. NOT RECOMMENDED for children 11 and under.
Auschwitz combined two functions: a concentration camp, and a killing centre in which some one million Jews, and tens of thousands of others, were murdered. This powerful exhibit explores the dual identity of the Auschwitz camp as a physical setting – the largest documented mass murder site in human history – and as a symbol of hatred and human atrocity.
This is the ROM’s introductory info on the exhibit.
Admission: Adults $20.80 / Children (under 14) $12.80 / ROM Members – free
The museum is not offering docent-led tours; we will each be given a headset device with pre-recorded tracks to listen to throughout the exhibit. Note that the exhibit (and the museum) closes at 5:30pm.
