Oraynu’s Tzedek & Learning Circle (TLC) offers an inspiring discussion with Robin Mednick, President and Executive Director, Pencils for Kids. This Canadian charitable organization partners with communities in Niger, West Africa to create sustainable educational programs, resources and infrastructure – focusing especially on the needs of girls and women. Oraynu member Louise Sherman serves on the board and has volunteered extensively.
Robin presented at an Oraynu event many years ago and we held a Pencils for Kids fundraiser to provide educational resources for girls in Niger. We’re looking forward to hearing about the ever-evolving story of Pencils for Kids and some of their current projects.
